Description
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft used by the United States Navy. It is a specialized variant of the Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet, designed to replace the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler. The Growler's primary electronic warfare capabilities are supplied by Northrop Grumman, enabling it to effectively disrupt enemy radar and communication systems. Production of the EA-18G commenced in 2007, with the aircraft entering operational service with the US Navy by late 2009. Additionally, the Royal Australian Air Force acquired thirteen EA-18Gs, which began service in 2017, enhancing their electronic warfare capabilities.
